Grieg NL, a newly formed company with plans to build a land based salmon recirculating hatchery, sea based cage grow out as well as other avenues involved in the salmon aquaculture industry has decided to hold an information session for the general public to better understand the project we are pursuing in the Placentia Bay area. This Information session on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at 6:30 pm in St. Gabriels Hall, Marystown will provide the public with a short presentation by Grieg NL’s Human Resources Manager on the anticipated project plans. This will include a brief summary of the project as well as jobs that will be generated within our two core business; Grieg NL Nurseries and Grieg NL Seafarms. As well, Grieg NL has plans to be part of a feed plant, a lumpfish hatchery as well as the processing side of our product. Opportunities associated with all of these as well as envisioned industry spinoff employment opportunities will be discussed.
Grieg NL has invited a number of training institutes to present on programs in the local area that provide training in many areas we foresee applicable skills. In addition, Grieg NL has approached a number of industries that may be involved as a service provider for this project. These invited institutions and industry will have an opportunity to present, have a booth or just be available to discuss their operations and programs to the public.
This is an opportunity for any interested individuals to become informed on the Placentia Bay Salmon Aquaculture Project proposed by Grieg NL. There will be opportunities for individuals to introduce themselves as well as submit resumes for consideration, both for positions with Grieg NL as well as other industry participants or pursue information on other training opportunities to prepare for future employment in this or other similar aquaculture industries.
